CDF has set up a donations page on Payfast Causes through which the Foundation can accept donations from local and international individuals and organisations.
Smart Townships are built from the ground up in more ways than one. In the first instance, in order to be created and progress from strength to strength, Smart Townships are built by the people, for the people. In this way they meet people’s needs. In the second instance, down the line, the Smart Townships of tomorrow will be sustained and improved upon by the Smart Kids of today. Today’s Smart Kids are tomorrow’s Smart Citizens and Leaders. Are we paying enough attention to ensuring all South African children are Smart?
The Cape Digital Foundation’s purpose is to connect the unconnected – with a focus on local townships and informal settlements that do not currently have affordable access to the Internet. CDF believes that townships are South Africa’s Smart Cities of the future.
