Launch of Digital Africa Education Atlantis Circuit
The Cape Digital Foundation has joined with Liquid Telecom, UC-Wireless, Edupac, Edge Evolve, Snapplify, Jumpstart and Ambit Technologies to roll out an integrated education solution in Atlantis, Western Cape. Over three years the integrated education ecosystem, which is replicable in other circuit areas, will be rolled out across all nineteen schools in Atlantis.
“Atlantis is a circuit wide launch over nineteen schools, bringing together an ecosystem that includes internet connectivity, a school management system, a learner management system, educational content, devices and analytics that facilitate being able to evaluate the effectiveness of the integrated education system for both the schools and learners,” says Emma Kaye, CDF’s Executive Director.
The Atlantis circuit will be launched at Atlantis Secondary School on 26 July.
CDF’S EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, EMMA KAYE, IS AN INSPIRING FIFTY NOMINEE
The founders of Dutch based non-profit organisation Inspiring Fifty, Janneke Niessen and Joelle Frijters, have experienced first-hand how uncommon it is to find women in leadership positions in technology and how pervasive gender bias is at all levels in tech. They started Inspiring Fifty to challenge the perception people have of working in technology.
Inspiring Fifty showcases inspiring female role models in the technology industry in the Netherlands, France, Europe and the Nordics. Inspiring Fifty annually awards the 50 most inspiring women in each country in the technology sector with the aim of providing a platform that brings more visibility to the achievements of women in the innovation and technology sector.
For the first time Inspiring Fifty, in cooperation with the Kingdom of the Netherlands and #cocreateSA, has set about searching to find the fifty most inspiring women in South Africa working in the different spheres of technology and innovation. Inspiring Fifty SA will be announced on Women’s Day, 9 August.
