It will not be long before you see anyone at PokerStars displaying a computer screen packed with hundreds of tables at the same time. In its latest step to boost overall player experience and create a more immersive poker environment, PokerStars will limit the number of cash game tables that a person can play at the same time to six.
This move will be checked on the Italian market first from 17 July, and will most likely extend to the world if the player receives a favorable response.
In the Blog Post, Severin Rasset, Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Officer of PokerStars, said that most of their players only play one table at a time, and one of the main criticisms is that the tempo of the game is too sluggish. In general multi-table players move fast, but often when faced with a tough decision, they will paralyze all their tables. You will also have to face scenarios when the entire table needs to wait impatiently for anyone to act.
Rasset also notes that just 0.3 per cent of the players on the web play seven or more tables at a time. And it can be bad news for this party of grinders. But according to PokerStars, despite reducing the number of tables, they expect these players to maximize their chances of winning by concentrating more on each table.
Before that, PokerStars already started testing another update, the SeatMe feature. As a result, players are no longer allowed to pick their own table. Instead you can push the SeatMe button and the machine will automatically position you at a random table. If these developments yield good outcomes, they will eventually be carried out to the entire PokerStars system.
